You may need to carve a 45 degree angle for the eyes of the pumpkin if they are an equilateral triangle. However, I have never carved a pumpkin.

Kaustubh, the question talked about the cookie monster, and he doesn't have TRIANGULAR EYES!

you may need to carve a pumpkin at 45 degree angles so that the lid can rest on top without falling. if you cut at a ninety degree angle, then the lid would fall straight through the pumpkin.

You need to carve a pumpkin at 45 degree angles for the triangles and make up the jack o' lantern's mouth. Also, you need to carve the top at 45 degree angles so that the lid cannot fall inside the pumpkin. I might have carved a pumpkin before but I don't remember.

You may need to carve a pumpkin at a 45 degree angle, because if carve anything like the lid or the nose at a 90 degree angle it can just fall in. If you carve it at a 45 degree angle the carving wont fall into the pumpkin.

Hi to carve a pumpkin you need to use a 45 degree angle to make triangles as eyes. In addition you do not want the cut lid of the pumpkin to fall in so you use a 45 degree angle to keep it cut but stable. I used to love carving pumpkins when I was little but I got scared when they got lit up!

I hardly understood the question but 45 degree angles would ensure that the eyes and noses were equilatteral triangle. however this would not apply to cookie monster since that was an entirely diffrent design. ALso cutting the lid a t 45 degrees would ensure that the lid stays on

you were supposed to carve the pumpkin with your tool at a 45 degree angle so that you can cut a circle around the top of the pumpkin to take out all the seeds but still be able replace the lid without it falling in. i carved a pumpkin before but my instructions didn't tell me to carve at a 45 degree angle so my lid kept falling in.

I think you would have to carve at a 45 degree angle because when you are cutting it, the piece that you cut will pop out automatically instead of you accidentally having it fall in. Also, all of the seeds inside may interfere with the knife and get tangled and cutting it slightly inwards would help avoid getting it stuck. I have carved pumpkins but most of the time, it gets eaten by a squirrel.

I think that you have to carve the pumpkin at a 45 degree angle because if you carve it straight at 90 degrees, then the lid would just fall off since the gap is bigger than the lid and it slowly expands. If you carve the pumpkin at 45 degrees, then the lid will have more support to be able to stand up and hang from the top. Also, unlike cutting a pumpkin straight, 45 degree angles also give more precision because you can cut it easier and have more control over the pumpkin. I have carved many pumpkins before, and its really fun except for when all the insides come pouring out

In order to carve a pumpkin, it is beneificial to use forty five degree angle because that way the lid does not fall into the pumpkin. I have carved a pumpkin. In the future, I would be sure to use that angle degree measure, to prevent my pumpkin from collapsing.

I think the directions said to cut 45 degree angles so that the lid can stay on top. If the lid is cut in 90 degrees then it would just fall in. It would end up being too small for the hole, so instead of staying on top, it would go inside the pumpkin. If the lid is cut in 45 degrees then it would have more support to stay on top. And no, I have never carved a pumpkin. In the future, I would consider using my knowledge, though, because it would help me out tremendously.

I think a pumpkin would have to be carved at a 45 degree angle in order to keep the lid from toppling over and falling off. I've never carved a pumpkin by myself, since I have a small phobia of knives, but should I ever in the future, I'll definitely use this snippet of knowledge.

I think a pumpkin should be carved at a 45 degree angle to have all the different parts fit in properly without having unequal parts and so that the parts won't fall off. I have never carved a pumpkin, but next time I carve it, I will use this information to ensure that I have a good looking pumpkin.

You should carve a pumpkin using 45 degree angles so the lid will have a place to rest at the top. If you just cut straight down, then the lid will fall through. I've never carved a pumpkin before, but in the future I would use my knowledge.

I see that many formulated with the theory of if the lid were cut at 90 deg, the lid will fall off. This only applies to angle x when 45<x. If the angle is less than 90, the lid would slide off. Therefore a 45 degree is optimal for the lid of a pumpkin

You need to carve it at a 45 degree angle (or any angle less than 90 degrees), otherwise the pieces cut will fall through, forcing you to dig through the slimy flesh of a pumpkin to get it out.

You need to carve it at a 45 degree angle because if you do, it will be so much more efficient than if you carve it at a 90 degree angle

The top would have to be carved at a 45 degree angle so that the lid does not fall to the bottom as it would if it was carved straight down, at a 90 degree angle.

It is cut that way so the lid doesn't fall in.

The top would have to be carved at a 45 degree angle because it would look neater and not uneveb. Also, the 45 degree angle is needed so prevent the top from falling or not being able to fit.

Carving the top at a 45 degree angle doesn't allow the lid to fall through.
