A real world situation that involves different angle measures is construction. In construction a constructor needs to follow angles so that everything is stable and is sturdy. For example, the roof of a house has to be at least 39 degrees and at maximum 48 degrees to prevent rain water and make sure snow and rain can slide off. If the roof was a 180 degree angle the snow would have no where to go and when it melts, the water has no place but to start leaks inside a person's house.

A real world situation where i use angles is my posture in school. When stretching over in gym class to reach my legs i make an acute angle. When bending over to drink at the the water fountain I make an obtuse angle. I make a right angle when i sit down on a chair.(From my knees to my head). Finally i make a straight angle when i stand up. 3/29/2016 03:36:13 am
I really like your comment Venkat thats a great point. I really really like it

A real world solution involving angles would be finding the measurement of a slightly opened door and then finding the measure of how much the whole door can still open up till the door stopper and see if it forms a complimentary angle ( it probably would).

A real world situation that deals with having to find different angle measures would be in ballet where you have to form precise, sharp angles with your hands and feet.

An example of a real world- situation where you'd have to find the measure of an angle is when you're building something. Such as making a bookshelf, you would have to make sure the corner angles are all congruent and to do that you'd have to find the degrees of all the angles.

An example of a real world situation is in dance. I, for one, take Indian classical dance, called Bharat Natyam. For specific steps, we have to angle our legs, feet, torsos, necks, and heads in specific positions to match the grace and elegance meant for this dance.

A real world situation that involves different angle measures is the building of a house. I know that when people build houses, it is very important to be very precise in the angles that are created or else the entire house could collapse. I have firsthand experience in this from when I built a gingerbread house in 5th grade. I used angles about 35-45 degrees wide to support my house, and they ended up helping me make a really nice structure. This only goes further to prove how necessary some math concepts are. 9/18/2014 12:00:04 pm
A real world situation where angles are used is in engineering. In engineering, the precise angle is required. For example, the wings of an airplane must be exactly angled at 15 degrees upwards or otherwise the airflow over the wing will be compromised. Another area of engineering where angles are crucial is in construction. The beams and re-bars must be at a precise angle or else the bridge would be unstable and may collapse.

A real world situation in which angles are used is in building a structure or anything in that category. In order to make a roof of a house you need to angle it properly so that all the water and snow can go into the drainage pipes. Even in building the house itself you need to angle the pipes so it fits in the infrastructure and connects with everything else.

Angles are used everyday. When athletes stretch, they separate their legs and arms. When people paint, they hold their paintbrush in a certain angles for different effects. When architects build homes, they use right angles for the walls.

Origami is a real world example of angles. In origami, you must make 45, 90, etc degree folds. This requires us to have an approximation of how large or little an angle is.

In skateboarding, there are various ramps that have different angles to them. The different angles must be judged by the skaters of how much hang time you will get to pull tricks and etc.

Any picture frame must be made to fit the pictures. Most of the time, it requires a 90 degree angle for the picture. The frame's angle will let the picture fit.

There are many times in life where angle measures are used. There are lots of times in sports where angles can make it or break it. In golf, the angle you swing the club at a specific angle, the ball will be hit flat or will be lofted in to the air. In basketball, the angle of the shot will affect how the shot travels and distance it goes. The more angle upwards you get on the ball, the more high it will go. Get the right angle, the ball will swoosh into the net. Angles are an important thing in sports from hectic games like basketball to slightly slower place games like golf.

In everyday life, angle measurement is important in some hidden ways. For example, if everyone were to get one equal slice of pie, cake or pizza, you need to know that the pieces cut out are of equal angles therefore allowing every person to get a equal slice.
