you will know which one is the smallest angle if it is the opposite vertex of the shortest side (in length). Same with the longest side, where it is opposite of the vertex with the largest angle

shortest side is opposite shortest angle, longest side is opposite largest angle. in an isosceles right triangle the longest side is opposite the 90 degrees

The opposite side of the angle you are talking about depends on the angle. If that angle is the largest angle in the triangle then the Side will be the longest in the triangle. However if its the shortest angle then it will be the shortest side of the angle.

I guess I can't use what other people already used so if a triangle is isosceles, it means it has two congruent sides and if two sides are congruent then the base angles are congruent.

The relative size of the line or angle measure indicates the relative size of the angle measure or side length on the opposite part of the triangle. For example, if we were to talk about the smallest angle in a certain triangle, then the side length would also be the shortest side of that triangle. The same thing applies for the largest angle and line, and the remaining angle and side.

if a^2+b^2=c^2, then the triangle would be classified as a right triangle

- If two sides of a triangle are congruent to each other, then the angles at the base are also congruent.

The shortest angle is opposite from the shortest side, and the longest angle is opposite the longest side. For example, if you had m<A=56, m<B=90, m<C=34, then the longest side would be CA and the shortest would be AB.

Most of the answers are here already and I can't think of a new one so I think I can only extend on these responses.

According to side-angle theorem, you can order the lengths of triangle sides from greatest to least based on their angle measures, or vice versa. For example, if AB=3, BC=4, and AC=5, then you can say angle B is the greatest and angle C has the least value, because AC>AB.

In a triangle the side opposite the largest angle is the largest, the side opposite the smallest angle is the smallest, the side opposite to the angle measure in between the largest and the smallest angle measure has a length in between that of the largest and the smallest side, and sides opposite congruent angles have the same length.

The smallest angle is opposite the shortest side. The largest angle is opposite the longest side. In a right triangle, the hypotenuse, or the longest side, is opposite 90 degrees, since that is the greatest degree measure.

The largest angle faces the largest side. The medium sized angle, faces the medium side. This also goes with the smallest angle. So if the largest side has a length of 7 and that's the largest side. Then the largest angle, lets say 8 degrees will face that side

The smallest angle is across the smallest side. The largest angle is across from the largest side. This is called the angle side theorem. Most of the theorems were already used so I just expanded on the original ones.

The order of angle measures in a triangle from least to greatest also correspond to the sides opposite of the angles. For example, take a triangle where AB=4, BC=5, and AC=6. Since AB is the shortest segment, angle C is the shortest angle since it is opposite AB. For the same reasons, angle B is the largest angle and angle A is in the middle. The same method would also work if the angle measures were given and you needed to order the segments.

The measures of the angles and sides correspond depending on how big the angle is or how long the side is. The biggest angle matches with the biggest side and vice versa.

The smallest angle measures are opposite of the smallest sides. The largest angle measures are opposite of the largest sides. Comments are closed.
